Two new titles from indie developers are launching this week.
From Okugi Studio, Shad’O is a tower defense based game that’s about William, a 9 year old boy who has lost his memory and has to call upon luminous companions to combat the darkness to drive back the fog that clouds his memory. I’m excited to see this game take off for its approach on the visual aesthetic, promising soundtrack, immersive story telling, and of course the addictive gameplay.

Mark of the Ninja
From the team that brought us N+, Shank, Eets, and other successful titles comes another great 2D platformer based on stealth action. Climb, jump, and hang while lurking in shadows setting up traps and backstabbing the unaware are all traits to what any ninja game should have. There hasn’t been enough of this kind of game in the last decade. The guys at Klei really know how to make good old classic 2D games appealing. Unfortunately this title is only available for Xbox360, for now. The guys at Klei are working on getting it published for the PC as well. Link to the discussion found here.
