This game came out of nowhere and blew me away when I first saw the gameplay. At first glance it may look just like another Medieval game with knights and swords, but the game is much deeper than that. It has an intricate combat system, objective based missions that are team oriented, group multiplayer environments up to 64 players, and amazing sound design and voice acting for each character.
Where this game truly shines is the intensity of the combat system and how a variety of techniques that are at the players disposal. Some weapons might swing slower than others so it must be prepared in advance, dragging the mouse while swinging might delay the attack or rush to connect sooner than the opponent might anticipate. If the opponent swings high, the player may duck and the attack would miss entirely. If they swing low the attack can be jumped over. If the opponent has a shield, the player can come from above with a jump attack, or swipe low at an exposed leg, or simply kick the blocking opponent to gain ground and cause them to stagger. Parrying and counter-attacking is crucial to winning in combat, after a parry the next attack is sped up, but parry can only be used for a short period of time. To get around a cautious opponent who is waiting to parry, feigning attacks can trick your opponent to parry prematurely.
I think this video clip should illustrate much better than my explanation about how complex every fight can be.
